Change has many faces.

One of those faces is to understand how change happens in individuals.

This month I want to reflect on five questions that have been on my mind lately.  These questions come out of my ministry context as I serve part time as a Transitional Leader and Coach in a couple of congregations.  My responses to the questions are not absolute answers but rather my approach at this point in my journey.  I am constantly learning as I go and invite you to join me on that quest for the best practices in transitional situations.

The Vancouver 2010 Olympics are now in our rear-view mirror and for many of us, still very fresh in our minds.  I had the privilege of seeing up close some of the events and witness first hand the thrill of victory and the disappointment of defeat.  One indispensable attribute that an Olympic athlete needs to compete is confidence.  It is a quality not just for survival but also essential to thrive in competition. It helps the athletes overcome adversity, come back after injury and step up when the moment of giving it your all is required.

What is the role of "urgency" in a situation requiring change? What's been your experience in managing change successfully that results in long term, positive God-honoring change?

Every once in a while it's worth while to stop and reflect on what you've been learning.  This month I wanted to share a few things I've been learning in hopes that you will consider doing the same for a few reasons.

Some times I wonder how much of a difference I’m making with my life and through my work.  I don’t know if that thought ever crosses your mind but it crosses mine from time to time.
